Our passion in this Institute is not only to promote and pursue excellence in teacher education, we are also out to vigorously entrench the culture of sound research and community service.
We believe that you are here to pursue and attain your hopes and aspirations. We therefore enjoin you to spend your time in this University with all sense of maturity, integrity and responsibility which in the end will justify that you obtained your degrees in learning and character.
This Students’ Handbook is a guide for your programmes at the Institute but does not in any way negate the letter and spirit of the University Academic Regulations. You are required to read these documents as your guide on registration, lectures, examinations and other requirements about your programmes and fields of study. You are required to abide by the rules and regulations of the University, including the University’s Dress Code.
At the Institute of Education, University of Maiduguri, we speak computer language, that is, all our interactions with you will be based on the computer. You must therefore be computer literate if you really want to succeed with us. You will be required to fill your admission forms online, your registration procedure and submission will be online, your lecture notes and other academic resources will be ICT based, including your examinations. You may also be required to communicate with your lecturers online. All these are meant to ease your academic work and interactions and reduce your stress.
